NASCOLA is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 2000 under USA law
with missions that include:
Providing proficiency testing for North American laboratories
performing diagnostic testing for bleeding or prothrombotic
disorders, thereby improving performance standards.
Creating a forum for critical evaluation of coagulation testing
procedures, reagents and instrumentation.
Developing guidelines for appropriate use, performance and
interpretation of coagulation tests and results.
Enhancing communication among laboratories performing specialized
coagulation testing.
Promoting education on laboratory testing in hemostasis and
thrombosis.
Supporting collaborative research activities among participating
laboratories.
